Admission to Candidacy leading to Music Teacher Certification

Undergraduate Certification

Music students wishing to earn a major in music education leading to certification in the State of Georgia to teach preK - 12 grade music must follow a number of program and College of Education-specific certification requirements and admission process. It is important to be informed of these requirements and the admission process very early in your college career.

Graduate Level Certification through the Post-Bac Program

Music students who already have a degree in music who wish to earn music education certification in music in the State of Georgia to teach preK - 12 grade music must follow a slightly different program and College of Education-specific certification requirements and admission process. Students must first apply for acceptance into the AASU Post-Bacculearate Music Education Certification program and the AASU Graduate Teacher Certification Program. A certified copy of the students transcripts will be required. Please download the following forms for Transcript evaluation for art education.
