AASU Music and Music Education Program

The location of Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah provides students with an excellent opportunity to hear top professional musicians perform. Many teachers on the AASU music faculty are members of the Orchestra Players of Savannah or formerly of the Savannah Symphony, a well regarded regional professional orchestra that has performed extensively throughout the years. AASU music students enjoy many opportunities to participate in or simply listen to a variety of music events in the following genres: classical, jazz, folk, and popular music in the area. The church musician also finds ample opportunity to gain professional experience in the large number of churches located in Savannah.

A student can pursue a music or a music education degree with a performance focus in vocal/choral, woodwind/brass, percussion, piano/keyboard, or jazz.

Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah provides opportunity for students to work with music educators in public and private schools on all levels. An active student chapter of the Music Educators National Association provides opportunity for students to interact,form friendships with their peers, and meet music education leaders on both the state and national levels.
