VENUE CHANGE: Wind Ensemble at Armstrong Center TUESDAY The Armstrong Atlantic State University Department of Art, Music & Theatre (AASU AMT) announces a venue change for its Fall 2008 University Wind Ensemble concert, "Yosemite Autumn". The band will hold its Tuesday, October 21 concert at the Armstrong Center Ballroom (ACB), located at 13040 Abercorn Street, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Current renovations of the AASU Fine Arts Auditorium have necessitated the venue change, but the AASU music program has found a merry match in the ACB to serve as its temporary concert hall. Spring 2008 concertgoers attended several AASU music ensemble events in the Armstrong Center Ballroom finding the acoustics to be quite pleasing and the close proximity of seating to the performers to be engaging. Director Mark B. Johnson has programmed Impressions of Japan by James Barnes, Dmitri Kabalevsky's Overture to Colas Breugnon, and the bright and expansive symphonic poem Yosemite Autumn by American composer Mark Camphouse to highlight the concert. Advance Wind Ensemble tickets may be purchased in person by cash, check, Visa or MasterCard at the AASU AMT Box Office, located in the AASU Fine Arts Building. Make checks payable to AASU. AMT box office hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekdays. Order concert tickets by phone with Visa or MasterCard by calling 344.2801, or order online at www.finearts.armstrong.edu/tickets.html. General admission tickets to the concert are only $6. Please make checks payable to AASU. AASU students are admitted free with valid AASU I.D.
